Complaints

How to make a complaint about:

A Police Authority Member
The Police Authority
A Chief Officer
Hampshire Constabulary officers or staff

A Police Authority Member

The Police Authority’s Standards Committee is responsible for considering complaints that a member may have breached the Code of Conduct.

If you want to complaint about the conduct of a member of Hampshire Police Authority, you must submit your complaint in writing. The Standards Committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a member. It will not deal with complaints about things not covered by the members' Code of Conduct. If you make a complaint to the Standards Committee, it must be about why you think a member has not followed the code.

If you would like advice on this matter, you may write to the Authority’s Monitoring Officer, Mrs Jenni Douglas-Todd, at the Police Authority offices.

Standards Sub-Committee Decision Notices

If the Standards Committee decides that an investigation and hearing needs to be held into the complaint, and the Member is found to have breached the Code of Conduct, a summary decision notice will be published in the public notice section of a local newspaper, and on the Police Authority website. Please find below any summary decisions notices that have been published:
