Supporting Hampshire's Rural Communities
Hampshire County Council has developed a Rural Strategy to help meet the needs of rural areas now and in the future. It was developed through consultation with experts across the county and directs the County Council's work in rural Hampshire.
The Rural Communities website also provide sources of information, advice and contacts relating to rural issues in Hampshire. We welcome your views on the content and type of information you would find helpful.
Grants for rural communities - now open for applications
Parish and town councils and community organisations in rural Hampshire are invited to apply for grants of up to £1000 for community-led initiatives.

Senior Lead Councillor
Cllr Dr Ray Ellis has been appointed Executive Member responsible for rural policy. He is keen to ensure that the County Council is effective in the delivery of its services in rural areas, both those delivered directly, and those in partnership with others.
The Rural Delivery Strategy consultation paper sought feedback on the issues faced by our rural communities and set out the vision and key objectives proposed in responding to them, both directly, and in partnership with other organisations. It also highlighted examples of the initiatives underway in tackling these issues together with some potential future actions for the County Council.

Case study compiled by the Commission for Rural Communities in partnership with Hampshire County Council
The Socio-Economic Profile of Rural Hampshire has been revised, in response to an identified need for an evidence base to support the development of Hampshire County Council’s Rural Delivery Strategy and the work of the newly established Hampshire Rural Forum.
