'Stop and Account'

If you are asked to 'stop and account' for yourself but not searched by the police you:

  • will not have to give any personal information e.g. name and address

  • the officer will not have to fill out a detailed form

  • will simply be asked for your ethnic background and will be recorded so that we can ensure that the police are using their powers fairly

  • will receive a receipt card with the details of the officer
