Biography

Ray Palmer has been an Independent Member of the Police Authority for seven years. He leads for the Authority on Safer Neighbourhood policing, and on the Constabulary's efforts to provide an excellent service and to meet the aspirations of the Policing Pledge. He lives in Waterlooville, and is a member of the Safer Havant Partnership's Strategic Group.

Ray is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has a BA from the Open University. He spent thirty years in a variety of management jobs in HM Court Service, and then ran his own management consultancy for eight years, working with public and private sector clients. He has been a Non-Executive Director of NHS Trusts, and is currently Non-Executive Chair of HM Court Service's Regional Risk and Audit Committee.

His hobbies include travel, all kinds of music, sport, photography, art and the theatre.
