Judy joined Hampshire Police Authority as an independent member in September 2007 having completed a full career in the Armed Forces where she achieved the rank of Colonel.  Her professional skills lie in the areas of finance, HR, governance and project management; these have come from a wide range of roles that she has held throughout her career.  She was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators in 2000.

Judy has a keen interest in policing issues – in particular those that affect the rural communities.  She has led a seminar on crime and disorder issues in the rural area, and provides support to those involved in anti-poaching measures.  Drawing on her military background, Judy is one of three members who provide a focus within the Police Authority for Protective Services.
