The consultation material has been structured in six parts. These include the County Council’s proposed county-wide transport vision, priorities and the policy background, set out in Parts A, B and C, and three area strategies.
The area strategies cover North Hampshire (Part D), Central Hampshire and the New Forest (Part E) and South Hampshire (Part F). The extent of these three area strategies are shown in the map.

Download Part F |
The South Hampshire section (Part F) is part of the draft LTP Strategy for the Hampshire county area, including the four districts wholly within South Hampshire and southern parts of Test Valley borough, New Forest, Winchester and East Hampshire districts. Part F should be read in conjunction with Part A and Part B of the consultation material, which outline the vision and the strategic priorities for the whole County Council area.
However, Part F differs from the other five parts of the proposed Hampshire LTP Strategy in that it has been prepared in co-operation with Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council, whose administrative areas adjoin the southern districts of Hampshire to form a large urban area.
While the emphasis of transport policy will vary from place to place, the unique and interconnected nature of transport across South Hampshire means that many of its problems and solutions are shared by the three authorities, who work closely together on areas of common interest through Transport for South Hampshire (TfSH). The content of the common strategy will be included within the final Local Transport Plan 3 documents being developed by the three Local Transport Authorities, which will be published by April 2011.
