Late applications

If you applied for a Year 7 place after 31 October, a notification letter was posted on 15 March (by First Class mail) advising of the school place secured for your child. If you have not been successful at securing a place at the school you named as your first preference, the letter will include advice about your right of appeal to the school(s) you have been refused admission to.

Do I have to accept the place?

The notification letter includes an acceptance slip which you should complete and return to the school. In accepting the place you are releasing any previous school place offered.

Parents who have been offered a place in a school maintained by another local authority are asked to complete the acceptance slip and return it to the Admissions Team, who will then confirm your acceptance of the place with the relevant local authority.

If you no longer need the school place secured for your child, you should advise the school as soon as possible.

We advise...

• that you hold onto the allocated place even if it isn't at the school you hoped for, until a place at an alternative school has been secured.

Don't forget...

• your child will automatically be added to the waiting list of any higher preference Hampshire school than the one you have been allocated;

• waiting lists have been established for all over subscribed schools;

• you can appeal for any school for which you have received a refusal.

Further applications

If you wish to apply for a Year 7 place for September at a different school (not named in a previous application), an application form can be collected from a Hampshire school, or you may find it more convenient to print a copy (see below):

If you wish to apply for a Hampshire school, you should send the completed application form to the school.

If you wish to apply for a non-Hampshire school, you should send the completed application form to the Admissions Team.
